3 Senior Athletes Inspire Elderly People To Get Up Off Couch And Exercise

Date December 12, 2017

In today's hectic world, it is getting harder and harder for us to have the courage to let go of the laziness and start exercising. And it could not be different. After all, every day that goes by, we experience more and more demand from our bosses at work, we have to overcome our limits to achieve results and, at the end of the day, the only thing we want is to take a nice bath, eat, watch TV and, rest. That is why we cannot fit in a meeting with friends.

However, we must not forget that physical exercises are strong allies of a healthier and more long-lasting life. And if you are the type who uses age as an excuse to not even try to start exercising, these three people over 80 will inspire you to shake off the dust and look for the nearest gym in your area.

Check them out:

1. Fauja Singh

The 106-year-old Briton is another example of inspiration. That is because Singh never gives up his run. The centennial man is a record holder of several senior events and has made part of some Adidas ads alongside world-renowned athletes, such as David Beckham and Muhammad Ali.

2. Man Kaur

This Indian, like Fauja, takes part in senior competitions, but for women. At 101 years old, she holds records in the categories in which she competes, and she inspires many people. Unlike many others, she only started running professionally at the age of 93.

3. Don Pellmann

The 86-year-old American holds several senior records, especially in the jump categories. To get an idea, in 2015, he broke five world records in just one day.
