Besides being diagnosed with breast cancer, she faced another tragedy: her father, Billy Graham, passed away on February 21, 2018, at his home in North Carolina. He was 99 years old at that moment.

On his birthday, November 7th, Anne Graham Lotz decided to make a touching tribute to her father. On her official website, Anne posted a heartbreaking letter with such an important message inside.

She started the letter by mentioning that it had to be her dad’s 100 birthday:

Today is my father’s 100th birthday! I’m reflecting, not on the public figure Billy Graham, but on the one I called “Daddy.”

She remembered all the good things that her father liked during his life:

Today, I’m remembering one who was always a farmer at heart.  Who loved his dogs and his cat.  Who followed the weather patterns almost as closely as he did world events.  Who wore old blue jeans, comfortable sweaters, and a baseball cap.  Who loved lukewarm coffee, sweet ice tea, one scoop of ice cream, and a plain hamburger from McDonald’s. Who was interested in everything and everyone, from the small to the great.  Whose mind remembered details that even a computer would have trouble recalling.

Even though she misses him a lot, she also knows that this life is not everything we have, and one day we will go home:

On this, his 100th birthday, while my heart aches for the one I called Daddy, my heart is also filled with triumphant joy knowing that this life is not all there is. One day we are going Home!

Anne Graham Lotz is also known as the founder of the AnGeL Ministries, and also as the writer of 11 books, including “Just Give Me Jesus”. She was one of five children, born to Ruth and Billy Graham, who was called the best preacher in the family.

Anne Graham Lotz proved to be a loving and devoted daughter, who will always remember her father no matter what!
