“A Nightmare Grandmother, Absolute Nightmare.” Princess Diana Influenced The Way Kate And William Raise Their Kids Now

Unfortunately, Princess Diana didn’t get a chance to see William and Harry as adults, and to raise her grandchildren. Nevertheless, there is a way for her to help William and Kate raise their children. But how is it even possible?

In the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, Prince William was asked what kind of grandmother Princess Diana would be. He said:

She'd be a nightmare grandmother, absolute nightmare. She'd come in probably at bath time, cause an amazing...scene, bubbles everywhere, bathwater all over the place, and then leave.

Princess Diana’s insistence on hands-on parenting was revolutionary for the royal family. For example, Queen Elizabeth left her small kids on household staff to embark on a six-month tour of the Commonwealth shortly after her coronation.

But Princess Diana wanted to be with her kids all the time. She was a perfect mom, who let children wear jeans and baseball caps and eat fast food burgers, while not express defiance of any sort of rule.

She said:

I want to bring them up with security. I hug my children to death and get into bed with them at night. I always feed them love and affection; it's so important.

And now, Kate Middleton and Prince William follow her footsteps. They try to spend as much time as possible with their kids.
