Met Gala 2018 was a blast as usual. Numerous celebrities rushed to the ultimate fashion event of the year wearing their masterpieces.
This year, the theme of the Gala was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, thus prompting the greatest fashion minds to deliver their personal interpretation of the Vatican-inspired gowns.
Considering the amount of celebrities attending the event, there was a fair amount of fashion faux pas, and we're here to investigate.
High fashion or just a miss?
Met Gala usually allows its attendees to be as bold as possible with their attires, but some can go a step too far. We've compiled the most questionable outfits of the event.
We can certainly appreciate the Victorian-inspired huge gown of the 35-year-old actress, but it would've looked better if it fit her properly. Hathaway looks like she was swallowed by her dress (not as much as her colleague Frances McDormand, but still).
Salma wore something that resembles a mural but not in a good way. The garden full of wildlife depicted on her gown didn't do the actress any favor.
Lana Del Rey
Angel-voiced Lana Del Rey went all out this year at Met Gala. She stepped out in a white and gold, Pope robe-inspired gown, embroidered with a gold heart with little daggers sticking out of it. Oh, and there's a hat, which looks like a bird on Lana's head. The outfit really speaks for itself.
Compared to the rest of the bunch, Priyanka didn't exactly overdid it, but everything about her gown was wrong. She completely drowned in the heavy red dress. In addition, the gold headdress was completely unflattering on the actress, so overall, she ended up looking a bit tacky.
Sarah Jessica Parker
There's a lot going on with Sarah Jessica Parker's outfit. She ended up looking like a queen of hearts flooded with gold but in a bad way. And was that huge incomprehensive crown really necessary? Sex and the City star definitely made an impression, but it had a different effect from what she was expecting.
We were disappointed not to see Beyonce or Lady Gaga this year, as they always deliver something worth seeing. Oh well, we'll impatiently wait until next year.
