Theresa May's Incredibly Low Curtsy To Prince William Is Sending Twitter Users On A Meltdown Meme Frenzy

Let's face it, the British have some pretty weird rules concerning their relationship with the royals.

Outdated royal rule?

One of these, curtsying, came under the spotlight recently, after Prime Minister Theresa May's attempt to do due diligence to Prince William ended rather badly.

Suffice it to say, her attempt was not exactly a curtsy.

But first, some backstory. Prince William and the British PM happened to be in the same place because they were both attending the commemoration of a key WWII event: the centenary celebrations of the Battle of Amiens.

As expected, May joined the royal in honor of the landmark event, but first, she had to bend the knee.

And because she is known for her peculiar curtsy, people online were on the lookout, and she did not disappoint.

One Twitter user, @olioc, asked aptly, "Isn’t that more of a lunge?" after the Buzzfeed writer David Mack (and expert on Theresa May's curtsies) shared another photo of her really low curtsy.

People have since latched on to the weird photo moment and done Twitter justice to it with hilarious and accurate memes. Will she ever learn her lesson?
