'Riverdale' is getting a new addition! In season 3, the highly popular teenage drama, which is based on the characters of Archie Comics, will have a new face - Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ son Michael. In the series, the 21-year-old will portray young Hiram Lodge.
At the Riverdale’s panel at Comic-Con was revealed that there will be an episode where we will get to see the younger versions of Riverdale parents. And who doesn’t like a good old flashback episode!
Michael is the oldest of Consuelos and Ripa's three children. He already has a bit of experience in the acting world as he did some voice work for on 'Go, Diego, Go!' in 2006 and 2007. He also played in a short film 'The Bensonhurst Spelling Bee' and appeared on his mother’s TV series Live! with Kelly.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos took to their social media accounts to send congratulations to their son on getting the role.
Kelly wrote jokingly:
Congrats Michael on being cast as young Hiram Lodge on @thecwriverdale however @instasuelos and i would like to take this opportunity to remind you and your siblings that as your fiduciaries we are hereby entitled to 10% of all future earnings hereto wit, or something like that
Mark captioned his post with the sweet words:
Bucket list moment for Mom and Dad. Congrats to my son Michael on being cast as the younger (and much better and handsomer) Hiram..We are so proud. Love you MJC
Fans congratulated the aspiring actor too
Meanwhile, we will have to wait how the flashback episode will play out and what kind of dark secrets will emerge.
