Barack Obama Honestly Spoke About The Hardest Moment Of His Life When Daughter Sasha Got Seriously Ill

August 2, 2019

One of the reasons many people love Barack Obama is the strong family values the former President represents. He is known to be a doting father to two beautiful daughters, Malia and Sasha.

Malia is the eldest, she was born in 1998. Natasha, known as Sasha, followed her big sis 4 years later.

Barack loves his daughters more than anything so it was incredibly hard for him when one of them got seriously ill.

Speaking at a dinner with six supporters who won a fundraising contest during his campaign in 2012, Barack shared how difficult it was for him when Sasha got meningitis when she was an infant.

He said:

People ask me what was the hardest time in my life — they ask, well what about during the debt ceiling debate and this and that and the other thing. Sasha got meningitis when she was 3 months old. I still remember going to the hospital together and they had to give her a spinal tap.

The loving father continued, recalling the experience:

Your world narrows to this very small point. There's one thing you care about and you don't care about anything else.

Even though raising children is a very rewarding task, it’s not the easiest one, especially when you are a president. Malia and Sasha practically grew up in the White House, being thrown into the spotlight when they were children.

Barack’s wife, Michelle, remembers telling her girls to not ‘act up’ and go to school and do their homework, just like other children.

It seems that Malia and Sasha got used to being in the public eye but they never embarrassed their parents, which only proves that Michelle and Barack taught them well.
