After meeting her lover and later her husband, Humphrey Bogart on the set of To Have and Have Not, Lauren Bacall was smitten as the chemistry between the two of them was undeniable. The love between them was so overwhelming that after their film premiered in 1945, Bogart divorced his wife and married Bacall a few months.


Despite their marriage’s rocky start, time proved that nothing. Not even their 25-year age difference or their different religions could keep them apart, as they had an amazing life with each other. The two lovebirds later had two children and were still together when Bogart died from cancer in 1957. Later, Bacall had a close relationship with Frank Sinatra and was later married to actor Jason Robards, with whom she had a son.

Leslie Bogart opens up about her mother

Leslie Bogart revealed that despite enjoying great success, riches, and fame as an actress, her mother remained humble and a true romantic at heart. Sharing memories of her mother, Leslie noted that Bacall’s love towards her father was immense, as it was the only thing she could talk about.

My mother always described my father, Humphrey Bogart, as very sentimental and romantic.

As a loving spouse, Bogart loved showering his wife with beautiful jewelry that he always engraved with his initials.


However, despite owning all the expensive jewels, Bacall remained true to her working-class roots.
