Steve Harvey’s show canceled

Steve Harvey’s daytime show was canceled by NBC after 7 years on air. Does it mean Steve is now officially unemployed?

According to Variety, Harvey wasn’t really surprised about the show cancelation. Earlier, the host explained that he should more likely look for another network to work with in the future, saying that Kelly Clarkson’s new show will probably replace his own one on NBC.

The host added that he would have liked for NBC to announce the news to him directly instead of finding out about it from the headlines.

Harvey added:

You look at the numbers on my show and it’s No. 4 in daytime television — it’s holding right there. I got a hit, so somebody’s gonna recognize that.

Melissa McCarthy instead of Steve Harvey?

But his daytime show cancelation is not the only big news for Harvey. Melissa McCartney will replace Steve in the kids’ talent show Little Big Shots.

Harvey hosted the show for three seasons. One of the network co-chairmen commented on Melissa’s new job in a statement to People:

Melissa is a strong creative force with her own ideas. Changes will be apparent.
