Peggy Lipton, Beloved Star of 'Mod Squad' And Iconic 'Twin Peaks', Died From Cancer Aged 72

The Hollywood community mourns the passing of an incredible actress, Mod Squad star, Peggy Lipton, who died from cancer.

RIP, dear Peggy!

Peggy Lipton, a people’s favorite actress, a talented singer, and just a very attractive woman, died from cancer on Saturday, May 11. She was 72.

Peggy was first diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2004. She bravely battered the disease for long years.

Lipton spent her last minutes surrounded by her loved ones – her daughters and nieces. Peggy’s daughters commented on their beloved mother’s demise in a statement to the Los Angeles Times:

Peggy was and will always be our beacon of light, both in this world and beyond. She will always be a part of us.

Lipton was best-know for her iconic roles in the popular series Mod Squad and Twin Peaks. She was also a talented singer with her three best singles hitting the Billboard charts.

The actress was married to a famous music producer, Quincy Jones. The couple divorced in 1990 after 16 years of marriage.
