'We’re Ready To Fight': Ellen DeGeneres Shares A Strong Message To The World On #Pride Week

June 26, 2018

Ellen DeGeneres may have had it rough in the years leading up to when she came out of the closet, but life never seemed any better when she met her wife, Portia de Rossi. They have come a long way from their chance meeting at VH1's Big in '04 Awards in 2005 to be one of the worlds most talked about gay couples.

Ellen is never short of words to express her feelings for Portia. Whether it is during her show or at interviews, she makes it clear that being with Portia means the world to her. There have been rumors about troubles in their relationship in the past, but none that held much truth.

This week, Americans celebrate #Pride Week on The Ellen Show and Ellen DeGeneres shared a strong message on her Instagram. The clip was a montage of interviews she had with different celebrities including President Barack Obama, Laverne Cox, and Sam Smith.

In the clips, the celebrities spoke about their passion to propagate the message of love with Sam Smith noting that he wanted to share this message to all people, irrespective of their sexual orientation or preference.

The most remarkable part of the post was Ellen’s note. She made it clear that she believed in her ideals and would continue to stand up for them no matter what.

This week on @ellentube is #Pride Week! We’ve come so far. We’ve helped so many. We’re ready to fight for what comes next. There’s a lot to be proud of.

Despite the best efforts of celebrities and high-profile gay people in America, many people find it hard accepting the gay community. Ellen famously had a dicey conversation with Olympian Caitlyn Jenner who made waves with her gender reassignment after being married with children for several years.

A part of the problem was with Caitlyn’s traditional position on heterosexual relationships, especially as she is transgender. In the end, the message of tolerance, no matter sexual orientation is still the most important takeaway.
