Following the birth of baby Sussex, Prince Harry now shares a special bond with his late mother, Princess Diana.

Would Harry be a better king?

There was a time Prince Harry was 3rd in line to the throne. But with the birth of Prince William’s 3 children, the Duke is now 6th in the line of succession.

This makes it unlikely that he will ever become king. But his mother, Princess Diana saw something in him and believed he should take the throne one day.

A journalist writing for a biography Harry: Conversations with the Prince, Angela Levin, reveals the late princess thought it would be easier for her youngest son to serve the nation instead of William.

She is of the opinion that the ginger-head is easy-going, has a great ability to cope, and simply knows how to enjoy life. Princess Diana, however, wasn’t so sure about William.

Prince William did talk about his reluctance to become a monarch.

Granny Diana

A royal household source talking to People said Princess Diana’s absence in the life of her son means “there will be a gap from Harry’s point of view.”

The late Princess of Wales who died in a car crash when Harry was young, will never get to meet her grandson Archie.

On Harry raising his son, a close friend of Diana says:

It’s very sad that poor Diana isn’t here to see her children getting married and now have babies. And it is so sad for him that she isn’t here too. Life is so precarious.

The new royal dad emotionally opened up that becoming a father reminded him of the painful loss of his mom. He said:

Missing a mother is like missing some kind of security, how you need that as a son, and it falls away when you lose your mother.

Tribute to momma

Prince Harry still carries the indescribable burden of losing his mother at a tender age. However, he still finds ways to keep Diana's spirit alive.

Meghan and Prince Harry found a beautiful way to pay tribute to Princess Diana in the week of their son’s birth.

The royal couple shared a photo taken at their Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor, showing baby Sussex’s feet being cradled by his mother. In the photo, Diana’s favorite flowers, forget-me-nots, can be seen in the background.

Prince Harry and his mother were extremely close. But now, the sadness at her not being here to meet her grandson Archie must be painful.
