'American Bandstand's Dick Clark Endured Two Divorces Before Finding True Love With Third Wife Kari Wigton

Born on November 30, 1929, as Richard Wagstaff Clark, Dick became America's most celebrated radio and TV personality. During his lifetime, he also produced and acted in movies. However, his biggest claim to fame is hosting American Bandstand from 1957 to 1988.

When it came to finding true love, Clark had a few misses. Nonetheless, the third time became a charm for him.

The icon first exchanged vows with Barbara Mallery in 1952. The couple had one son, Richard A. Clark. His parents parted ways after 9 years of marriage. Dick then shortly married Loretta Martin and together, they went on to share two children. The pair got divorced in 1971.

Take # 3 on happily ever after

After two failed unions, one might thing Clark must be nervous to initiate the third. But, his partnership with Kari was a message from the universe.

According to IMDB, the couple tied the knot on July 7, 1977 (7/7/77) in a ceremony that started at 7 p.m. The site also mentions that the host's post office box for his Burbank, Calif., address was No. 7777.

The gorgeous couple integrated their careers together. Kari was her husband's executive assistant. Year after year, she appeared with him at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve show that he annually anchored. It first aired in 1972, he only missed it once when he suffered a stroke.

Till death do us apart

For 35 years, Dick and Kari remained by each other's side. They only parted when the doting husband died on April 18, 2012, of a heart attack, at the age of 82, following his prostate surgery.
