Sir Rod Stewart Confesses He's Been Secretly Battling Prostate Cancer For The Past Three Years: "I'm In The Clear Now"

Back in 2000, Sir Rod Stewart was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The famous singer successfully beat the terrible illness, but it almost robbed him of his greatest possession – his voice.

Stewart once told Piers Morgan how terrifying the treatment was:

The surgeon told me how delicate the operation was. The doctor said, 'if there had been an earthquake while I was operating on your throat… one little slip and you wouldn't have spoken ever again.'

The singer's fans thought it was the only time he battled cancer, but it was just revealed that he was in danger for the past two years.

Rod Stewart reveals his new diagnosis

Over the weekend, Rod Stewart spoke at the Prostate Project charity, revealing he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016. The disease was kept in secret, so no one knew he was going through extensive treatment:

Two years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I’m in the clear now, simply because I caught it early … I’ve worked for two years and I’ve just been happy, and the good Lord looked after me.

Luckily, Stewart found out about his cancer early and was able to get well. He's now completely cancer-free and reminds everyone to get regular check-ups.

Fans are relieved to hear the good news about their idol

We're happy to hear Rod Stewart is well and wish him to remain healthy!
