He made his biggest dream come true

Zack Gottsagen dreamed of becoming an actor since he was a little boy. But many people who knew him thought it was a pipe dream as Zack has Down syndrome, a condition that causes delays in development and intellectual disabilities.

Gottsagen remembers:

I used to watch Shia LaBeouf on Even Stevens. I would dream of working with him someday.

But who would have thought that one day Zack’s biggest wish will come true and he will appear on the screen with Shia LaBeouf himself? Probably nobody. Yet, people’s discouragement never stopped Zack from working hard towards his goal.

He started taking acting classes in a performing arts school and after years of training and unwavering dedication, Gottsagen proved that nothing is impossible.

Now he stars in a new film The Peanut Butter Falcon alongside Dakota Johnson and Shia LaBeouf himself. Gottsagen comments:

Down syndrome won’t stop me. I knew I could do it. It was hard sometimes, but I knew if I worked hard, I would do a good job, and I did. I’m really proud of myself.

The film tells a story of two totally different people who become friends on a journey through North Carolina’s Outer Banks to find a professional wrestler named The Salt Water Redneck.

This is a very special feel-good movie that will warm our souls this August.
