Veteran broadcaster Cokie Roberts lost her battle with cancer. Fans pay tributes to the legendary journalist.

RIP, Cokie Roberts!

Some sad news was revealed on Tuesday. Eminent broadcast journalist Cokie Roberts passed away aged 75. Cokie died from breast cancer complications.

Roberts’ career on television spanned decades. She worked as a reporter for ABC News and was a co-anchor of the morning show This Week and Nightline.

Cokie’s family honored their beloved matriarch via an emotional statement:

We will miss Cokie beyond measure, both for her contributions and for her love and kindness.

Roberts was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002. After her sad diagnosis was revealed, Cokie made her mission to raise public awareness among women about the necessity to have regular checkups.

Roberts said:

In the course of my efforts to inform others about the disease, I learned about the benefits of early detection.

Cokie was a loving wife for her husband of 53 years. She was a doting mother for her 2 wonderful children and the best granny for her 6 grandkids.
