Dog The Bounty Hunter Nearly Breaks Down In Tears As He Watches The Premiere Of His Reality Show With His Late Wife

September 6, 2019

The famed Duane “Dog” Chapman’s new show, Dog’s Most Wanted, had its premiere on the 4th of September on WGN. But the first season comes with one major dark spot: Dog’s wife, Beth Chapman, passed away this June before the episodes aired.

A bittersweet premier

Dog the Bounty Hunter was a first-time viewer, just like Joe Q. Public and he nearly broke down in tears. Dog said he had not seen the final edit of the show -- which is not his normal process. That's why it was too difficult for himto watch footage of Beth.

Beth, who had been Duane's "parter-in- law", died from stage II throat cancer at the age of 51. Beth wasn’t afraid of death before her untimely passing.

“If I’m going to die, I’m going to die in my boots,”

- she says in the preview.

The new footage also shows Dog getting his hands dirty while chasing after criminals who try to outrun the law. Dog and Beth are supported by a team of hunters that Dog calls “The Dirty Dozen.”

The Chapmans starred in the popular reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," which chronicled the adventures of their family-owned bounty hunting business and aired from 2004 to 2012.

Her husband paid tribute to his wife's participation in the new series.

"My wife is, was, and always will be the heart and soul of 'Dog's Most Wanted,'"

he said in a statement.

"Beth wanted nothing more than for the show to go on, and I am so proud of the legacy that she left behind. She lived and died for this show, and she would be so proud of how hard we worked bringing these criminals to justice."

Fans' reaction

People, in fact, also took to the Internet to support the family and the premiere:

One user wrote:

"Thank you WGN ! For the Dog Most Wanted and love the show tonight"

Another added:

"Congrats on your new show Dog! Watching it now! Love it!!"

A third one said:

"I am looking forward to it. Much love for Beth and her family. She was a great woman"

" Loved the show tonight. God bless."

Now we understand why Duane was almost crying while watching the 1st episode of his reality show. Yet, his wife would be so proud of him!

After all, the show must go on...and we can't wait to see it!
