Jeopardy host Alex Trebek recently had fans breathing a sigh of relief when he announced that he was done with chemotherapy. This news came months after his March 2019 heartbreaking revelation that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Via a YouTube video in August, Trebek revealed that he had gone through "a lot of chemotherapy" but that was over.

I'm on the mend and that's all I can hope for right now.

He said that he was doing so well and everything was fine.

My numbers went down to the equivalent of a normal human being who does not have pancreatic cancer.

The doctors were optimistic about the results so they decided that it was the right time to stop the chemo then begin immunotherapy.

Unfortunately, the situation didn't last. The TV personality told Good Morning America recently that he had to begin chemo again less than a month after he stopped the treatment. He suffered a major health setback as he admitted that he lost "about 12 pounds" in one week.

And my numbers went sky high, much higher than they were when I was first diagnosed.

Due to this, Trebek's doctors decided that he would have to undergo more chemotherapy treatment.

On how he has been coping with the illness, Trebek said passing on doesn't scare him. The 79-year-old host believed he has an enjoyable life and whatever happens, he plans to stay positive.

He also said he has no plans of quitting Jeopardy because of his health issues

As long as I can walk out and greet the audience and the contestants and run the game I'm happy.

This new update inspired an outpouring of love and support from Trebek's fans who wished him good health.

They praised his courage and positivity while encouraging him to keep the faith.

An illness like this can't be easy on anyone. Let's keep hoping Trebek beats this and comes out the other side stronger and healthier.
