Annette Bening Weighs In On Her Son Stephen Transitioning From Her Daughter Kathlyn: "I'm Very, Very Proud Of Him"

Stephen Ira Beatty, son of Hollywood heavyweights Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, came out as a boy at the age of 14. Luckily, his famous parents were incredibly supportive and helped him start his transition. Warren and Annette's support has only grown stronger since.

In a new issue of AARP The Magazine, Annette Bening talked about her son Stephen's transition and praised him as a great role model:

He's managed something that's very challenging with great style and great intelligence. He's an articulate, thoughtful person, and I'm very, very proud of him.

It's true, Stephen is a dedicated gender identity activist and remains outspoken about issues within the transgender community. He is a great example to many young people who struggle with their own gender.

Annette's husband, Warren Beatty, is also very proud of their son and considers his transition a heroic act. As he told Vanity Fair in 2016:

He's a genius, and my hero, as are all my children.

Annette and Warren are such amazing parents, Stephen is very lucky!
