Greta Thunberg's little sister and parents are receiving threats because of Greta's fame as a climate change activist. That’s what makes Greta stay awake at night.

Greta Thunberg’s activism

Greta Thunberg is just 16 years old but she has become one of the most discussed public figures around the globe.

Greta has made her mission to inspire others to protest against climate change. Her achievements in fighting against the climate crisis couldn’t remain unnoticed. Time magazine even named the Swedish activist their ‘Person of the Year’ 2019.

President Donald Trump shared Greta’s emotional speech at a Summit on his personal Twitter account.

Trump tweeted:

She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future.

Greta Thunberg’s family gets threats

Recently, Greta Thunberg made a shocking revelation. Her little sister Beata and parents are receiving threats because of Greta's fame as a climate change campaigner.

Greta said:

The one who suffers is my sister. The people who write threats and hate to me, do it to the whole family, even to her.

Greta’s mom responds to haters

Greta Thunberg’s mother, opera singer Malena Ernman, confirmed that their family is constantly receiving threats from haters.

Mrs. Ernman explained:

The hardest part is to receive as much criticism and hatred and threats as we get, to keep both children healthy and also get some sleep in between.

But Malena added that those threats won’t stop her from supporting Greta’s activism and noble aim to stop the climate crisis.

I can see that my daughter is happy... I react like a mother. I get worried, happy and proud.

We hope Greta Thunberg’s family will stop receiving threats. After all, they just support their daughter in her desire to make our planet a better place to live on.
