Alex Trebek's health has become a major concern for the contestants on his show. He revealed his pancreatic cancer diagnosis earlier in March with a promise to stay strong. The host kept us updated through treatment and other struggles.

Now, it's feared he might be ending his tenure on TV. And, this has made people encourage him even more.

The 79-year-old icon has two more years of filming as agreed with the producers. However, as he continues another round of chemotherapy, his job's been difficult. Alex has developed sores in his mouth that disrupts his enunciation while on set. Still, he hasn't missed one taping and sustains a perfect record.

Strength boosted

During Monday's episode of Jeopardy, players were asked to name an 1890 exposé about poverty in New York. It was the final round when Alex called Dhruv Gaur who was smiling like he had the right answer. Instead of the correct response, his screen had the following words:

We love you, Alex.

Reading this message of support almost got cancer-stricken Alex choked up. After thanking Dhruv and he immediately turned to his anchoring duty, maintaining his unflappable demeanor.

The thoughtful participant did lose $1995. Later, he took to Twitter and explained the reason behind his gesture. Dhruv made Alex feel better on behalf of everyone.

Pancreatic cancer is the worst. It’s the same cancer that took my Grandma three years ago. It’s one of the most difficult to beat, but I truly hope Alex can beat it. My Grandma loved him and Jeopardy.
