Christina Anstead Is "So Done" With Having Kids As She Says Her Newborn Is Her "Hardest Baby"

No more babies for Christina and Ant Anstead. And that may have to do with her most recent child being the "hardest," apparently.

Christina Anstead's youngest baby arrived in September 2019 and the family is doing a great job of making sure everyone is happy.

Meet the gang

Ant Anstead and his wife, Christina, were each a parent of two children with previous spouses before they got married. In situations like this, couples ought to be very careful. Blended families can be quite complicated but the Ansteads are somehow figuring it out.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ant gushed about his and Christina's first son together, Hudson, who is only a few months old. He has two teenage children, Archie and Amelie Rose, with his ex Louise. Christina shares two children, Brayden and Taylor, with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa.

So how do they make sure things happen smoothly? Ant said it's all about putting the children's needs first.

If everybody wants the same thing, and that has to be kids first. If you prioritize kids first, it actually kind of falls into place and the rest of it makes sense.

In his opinion, any family decision that doesn't consider the children a priority is the "wrong decision.'

Done with kids

Christina revealed to UsWeekly recently that now that they are a family of seven, they won't be having any more children.

When asked if there are any more babies in the future for the couple, the mom emphatically responded:

We’re done. We’re done. We’re definitely done! So done. We’re done.

The Flip or Flop star confessed that Hudson has been her "hardest baby" and they have faced some challenges.

He still really just likes being in the house. He doesn’t like going out. As a very busy family, that’s been very difficult.

She, however, added that things are getting a bit better now as the little one gets older.

Fans of the Ansteads congratulated the couple on their new baby and expressed how much they loved the family.

They dropped positive words in response to Christina's declaration.

Tips for blended families

When two people who are already parents get married, they must think of more than just their own needs. They have to ensure their blended family works. Here are some tips from HelpGuide:

  • A solid relationship: The strongest foundation is ensuring you and your partner are a strong couple. Otherwise, adding kids to the whole equation will be a disaster.
  • Respect is crucial: You may not fall in love with your partner's children overnight and vice versa. But it's important that everyone respects and remains civil to each other while that bond forms.
  • Discuss parenting ideas and plans: Your way of parenting may differ from your partner's. And if you're getting married, you have to be on the same page here. So ensure you're both clear on your views.
  • Important elements: Everyone in the family should be made to feel valued, loved, appreciated, heard, and validated. These are factors that improve blended family bonding.

Having a successful blended family takes time and patience. You cannot rush the process, neither can you let things fester. As Ant said, the children are a very important part of this equation. So while you make you and your partner happy, you should also ensure the kids' needs are met. It may be a challenging journey but it's usually so worth it.
