Throughout the singer's life, she had reached incredible glory, and she was also blessed with a child. Albeit, Natalie Cole's only son died 18 months after her death.

In 2017, Robert Yancy tragically passed away at the age of 39. Natalie Cole's son's body was found in his San Fernando Valley apartment when one of his close friends, who hadn't heard from him in a few days, came to check up on him.

TMZ reported Robert died of a heart attack, and his death was listed as natural. Yancy's biological father and Natalie's first husband also passed away from a heart attack at age 34 in 1985, when the boy was only 7.

Natalie Cole's twin sisters, Timolin and Casey, told PEOPLE that Robert was getting his life back to normal and was super excited about celebrating his 40th birthday prior to his demise.

We are at a loss for words. He was deeply saddened over the loss of his mother. When Natalie died, he lost the most important person in his life. It was very hard for him.

Timolin and Casey concluded that despite their heartbreak and unbearable pain, the only comfort they had is because Robert had reunited with his mother.

The only comfort we feel now is that Robert is with his mother.

Natalie Cole was admittedly one of the most outstanding figures in the music industry. Though she and her son had left this world so soon, they will always be remembered by so many.
