Rupert Grint is opening up about the off-screen "sparks" that flew between his fellow castmates Emma Watson and Tom Felton while on the set of the Harry Potter franchise.
Actress Emma Watson may have sent Harry Potter fans into a frenzy after she revealed she had a crush on Tom when they were younger.
Back in 2011, the actress in an interview with Seventeen noted that Felton was her crush while they filmed the famous franchise. She said:
For the first two movies, I had a huge crush on Tom Felton. He was my first crush. He totally knows. We talked about it – we still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that's cool.
The Harry Potter star confessed that there "were some sparks" between Emma and Tom during the time they spent on set together.
While trying not to stir up rumors, Rupert said both actors would hit it off, if that ever came to pass. Grint speaking to Rachel Smith of ET in a sit down interview, he said:
There was always something. There was a little bit of a spark. But we were kids. It was like any kind of playground romance.
On his own part, Grint said he did not have any flirtations with any of his co-stars on set. He explained: "I didn't have any sparks. I was spark-free."
Over the years Emma has attracted handsome men who she has dated. The list of the Harry Potter actress’ boyfriends includes Chord Overstreet, Robert Pattinson, William "Mack" Knight, Roberto Aguire, Will Adamowicz, Tom Ducker, and Jay Barrymore.
Meanwhile, the actress calls being single "self-partnered". In a cover story for British Vogue Emma opened up about being single and why she prefers the term. In her interview with the magazine, Emma said:.
I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ spiel. I was like, ‘This is totally spiel.’ It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered.
Though Emma and Tom are not officially together as a couple, we're happy to they are friends.
