Garth Brooks tied the knot with Sandy Mahl in 1986. The couple welcomed three daughters, each of them has 2 years age difference. Despite their big family, Brooks and Mahl announced their separation in 1999 and 2 years later, they officially divorced.

Garth Brooks’ kids mean so much to him that after his divorce, he quit music to raise them.

Garth Brooks’ daughters are his world

Garth Brook couldn’t love his children more but his successful career in music distanced him from his offspring. That’s why he decided to rebuild the relationship with his daughters after splitting up with their mother.

To do that, he decided it would be best to leave music for some time and focus on his personal life. He recalled:

I just said goodbye to music, got divorced, moved back to Oklahoma and left Nashville. I was living with three strange women that I did not know. They were 8, 6 and 4. And I was about to get a crash course in female.

When Garth Brook’s first wife moved the girls from Georgia to Oklahoma, he had no chance but to follow them. A source shared:

He adores his children, and there was no way he wasn’t going to be a part of his daughter’s lives on a daily basis.

But, luckily, Brooks wasn’t experiencing those massive changes in his life alone. He met a country singer Trisha Yearwood soon after his divorce was finalized and in 2005, they tied the knot.

Garth is extremely grateful to have Yearwood in his life as she helped him a lot with his children. She even agreed to move with his to Oklahoma but on one condition – they will return to Tennessee when his girls finish high school.

Brooks kept his promise. He has already put his Oklahoma house up for sale and looking for a new place in Tennessee. It will surely have enough rooms so that his daughters could visit anytime.
