Actor Godfrey Gao Dies At 35 After He Collapsed On Set: "We Are Very Shocked And Saddened"

Godfrey Gao, AKA Magnus Bane from the movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, made a name for himself in the entertainment world.

In addition to being an actor, Godfrey Gao was also a model. The Taiwanese-Canadian began his modeling career in 2004 after moving to Vancouver, Canada from Taiwan.

Managed by JetSta Entertainment, Godfrey's career soon began to grow. His talent was so well known that in 2013, he made his American film debut in the film adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

He appeared in other productions too including Toy Story 3 and Shanghai Fortress.

WWD has reported that Godfrey passed away after he collapsed on set.

His management team, JetSta, told the publication that the actor suddenly fainted while he was filming a game show titled Chase Me on Wednesday, November 27.

In the statement, Godfrey's team explained that first responders quickly arrived at the scene and tried to save his life for three hours before he was eventually pronounced dead.

It was an unexpected loss that everyone has been having trouble coming to terms with, the management team said.

We are very shocked and saddened and even until now find it impossible to accept.

The team went on to appreciate fans for their concerns and they asked that people should respect the family's privacy at this time.
