Barbara Walters’ Former Assistant Passes Away From Ovarian Cancer At 39 Leaving Behind Twins With Special Needs

Barbara Walters’ former assistant Lauren Brennan Anglero died from ovarian cancer. She was 39 years old.

Ovarian cancer is the 11th most common cancer among women and the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death among females. According to a report by Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, the survival rates are much lower compared to other types of cancer that affect women.

Survival rates are greatly dependent on the stage of diagnosis. Women who are diagnosed early stage have a five-year survival rate than those diagnosed at a later stage.

Lauren Brennan Anglero, sadly, passed away earlier this week from ovarian cancer after been diagnosed only months ago. The mother of two who was 39, died just weeks away from her 40th birthday.

Lauren once worked as Barbara Walters’ assistant for some time. She had started her 16-year career at ABC working on The View. On Thursday, the hosts of The View took a moment to honor one of its most loyal and beloved staffers. during the show.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg said:

We have a tough goodbye to say. We want to mention the passing of a former staff member, Lauren Brennan Anglero, who worked here for many years.

Lauren is survived by her husband, Jerry Anglero, and, twins Aubrey and Mason who have special needs.
