An amazing transformation

I need to be beautiful again. I feel like I'm 5000 years old.

The 62-year-old woman shared that she had had to overcome many sad experiences in the last few years including the loss of her son. However, she was ready to "quit being depressed" and find the happy person on the inside.

Christopher Hopkins got to work on Beverlie and by the time he was done, she looked like a whole different woman. Her long hair was transformed completely and she ended up looking absolutely gorgeous with a shorter, more vibrant hairstyle.

Beverlie's makeup also helped her to look incredible as well. Christopher did succeed in bringing out the beauty within.

@Nancy Nicastri:

Not only did you cut many inches off her hair, you cut YEARS off her looks!!! WOW!!! You brightened her looks; as well as, let light shine into a dark place she was in. What a gift you give to others! I absolutely love her daughter-in-law's reaction! She was genuinely happy for her mother-in-law. So sweet! I think this makeover was exactly what this beautiful woman needed. Well done, Christopher and team!

Obviously this woman has had a very hard life. It’s heartwarming to see her experience joy over her beautiful makeover. I hope this gives her a chance to regain happiness and confidence.

@Arabella Elizabeth:

She was transformed from an aging sad lady into a sassy mature beauty. For once no old lady-ish too short helmet head hairdo but a lovely youthful style. One of my favorites.

Oh my goodness, my heart goes out to her when she described her feelings. She looks lovely! The hair color is stunning!

@Deb Brown:

Bless you Beverlie. So proud of you for having the courage to say "It's time to live again." And you look amazing! The Color Wizard did it again. And that cut! Wow! And the make up! Your eyes are gorgeous!

Long hair vs short hair

If you'd spent decades of your life rocking long hair, you may be wondering if chopping it off can be a great look for you. It's one of those decisions you battle with for a while because yes, the length of your hair can drastically affect your looks.

As it turns out, there's a way to figure this out before grabbing the scissors. Hairstyle expert Giles Robinson revealed an interesting method while speaking with Elle Magazine.

In the method, which was discovered by John Frieda of John Frieda Salons UK, whether or not you'd look better with short hair is determined by your jaw bone. And to get your answer, you'd need a pencil and a ruler.

First, place the pencil under your chin horizontally and then place a ruler under your ear vertically. Measure the intersection between the pencil and the ruler. If you get 2.25" then short hair will be perfect for you. Otherwise, long hair is your best bet.
