Farrah Fawcett’s Friend On How Desperately ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Star Fought With Cancer: "That Was Hard On Her"

Alana Stewart and Farrah Fawcett were closest friends, and even considered themselves to be each other’s soul sisters. They did everything together, and were indeed inseparable.

Their friendship started in 1979, when Stewart was pregnant with her daughter Kimberly. By the way, Alana and Farrah noticed unusual coincidence: they were both American-Indian. Besides, they had a lot of other things in common and enjoyed each other’s company a lot.

Farrah Fawcett’s battle with cancer

During one of the recent interviews, Alana Stewart recalled Farrah’s devastating battle with cancer, and how she dealt with so many hardships in her life.

The iconic Charlie’s Angels star was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, and was declared cancer-free a year later. But unfortunately, after a couple of months, doctors revealed horrible news: cancer returned and even metastasized to the liver.

Since that time, Farrah Fawcett chronicled her every step of her battle with the disease, and her diary was later included in the Emmy-nominated documentary Farrah's Story.

By the way, Alana Stewart was the one who helped her record the heartbreaking story of a non-stop battle with the disease.

She had done everything to keep from losing [her hair]. And she hadn’t. She still had her fabulous hair. The last round of chemo she had lost her hair. And that was hard on her.

Unfortunately, the iconic star didn’t win the battle with cancer, and she passed away in 2009, at the age of 62.

Farrah Fawcett did everything possible to recover from the horrible disease and was recording her devastating story. But unfortunately, she lost the battle. Rest in peace, the legend!
