Many have wondered why Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer was missing from baby Archie’s christening as the little royal was surrounded by family from both sides.

Сharles Spencer's absence at the christening

While Princess Diana’s two sisters were present for baby Archie’s christening ceremony, her brother Charles Spencer was nowhere to be seen. It turns out that Charles might have upset the royal family in the past.

Could this be the reason for his absence? We do not know for certain, as there was a lot of secrecy surrounding baby Archie’s baptism.

Prince Harry allegedly snubbed his uncle

It appears Prince Harry allegedly snubbed his uncle, Charles Spencer, from his son’s christening ceremony. With the secrecy surrounding the ceremony, it wasn’t exactly known if Harry invited his uncle.

According to The Sun, Charles missed baby Archie’s christening due to a long-running feud with the royal family. The Earl was giving a speech to promote his book, To Catch A King: Charles II’s Great Escape, in Hampshire at the time of the christening.

Speaking to the newspaper publication, a source said:

It was no surprise that the Earl was not at the christening as he and Harry have been distant for a long time now. Harry has always been closer to his aunties and he is not a big fan of Charles or his wife.

The falling out between Charles and the royal family started back in 1993 after Princess Diana and Prince Charles split.

Though he was present at Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle, the relationship between the Earl and his nephews has been distant for years. Harry has had a close relationship with his aunties Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.

Charles was silent on Archie's baptism

Charles Spencer was excited following the birth of baby Archie. He even congratulated the royal couple on the birth of their son on Twitter but was silent on the day of Archie's baptism.
