When Melinda French started dating Bill Gates, she had no idea they were going to become husband and wife one day.
However, even though she later revealed he wasn’t “spontaneous enough” for her, the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year.
The two appear to get along like two peas in a pod. Yet, their marriage hasn’t always been perfect.
The new interview
Melinda Gates opened up about her 25-year marriage to Bill in a new interview. The Microsoft founder’s wife revealed the biggest secret to their undying love, which is patience.
She also talked about the hard days, recalling that she wasn’t certain at times whether she can go on. Melinda shared:
I can remember some days that were so incredibly hard in our marriage where you thought, "Can I do this?"
Gates remembers how furious she was once when Bill was so engrossed in a book about Winston Churchill that he refused to help her puck up the car.
Nonetheless, Melinda assures that all her husband needs is “a little training.” Now the billionaire’s second half says they rarely disagree. She believes it’s because they have the same fundamental values.
According to her, despite the hurdles and misunderstandings that might occur, she and Bill are always looking in the same direction.
