Former United States Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. has faced criticism for inappropriately touching women. Jill, his wife, revealed that Biden and his two sons never miss a chance to wrap their arms around each other or give a kiss since the death of their mother Neilia and sister Naomi.

Biden came under pressure when a former Nevada assemblywoman Lucy Flores accused him of touching and kissing her without consent.
The former vice president responded to the allegations of touching the former Nevada assemblywoman, saying he did not see his actions as inappropriate but acknowledged he had made “expressions of affection.” He said:
I may not recall these moments the same way, and I may be surprised at what I hear. But we have arrived at an important time when women feel they can and should relate their experiences, and men should pay attention. And I will.
He made feel 'strange and uncomfortable'
His wife Jill revealed in her memoir Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself that the public displays of affection have always been the norm for Biden and his family.
Information obtained from DailyMailTV stated that in her memoir, Jill wrote that when they first started dating, he was always holding her hand, putting his arm around or brushing the hair from her face.
She admitted that being an introvert and thrust into into a family of 'huggers' made her feel 'strange and uncomfortable',
Jill also said that sometimes she found all the affection 'draining', but knew that death gave the family an understanding of how precious life is.
