Chelsea Newman Is Coming Home! Melissa Claire Egan Is Returning To ‘The Young And The Restless’

It seems the rumours are true. After a long absence, Melissa Claire Egan is making her return to popular drama soap The Young and the Restless as Chelsea Newman.

Goodbye for now

In January 2018, the actress announced that she was leaving the show after 6 years. She wrote a heartfelt message to all of her fans letting them know.

Chelsea’s character was last seen on the soap in February 2018, when she left Genoa city with her on-screen son Connor to avoid jail time.

The departure of the actress came at the time Mal Young ran the writer’s room on the show. The former head writer reportedly left in December.

Chelsea is coming back

Fans of iconic soap The Young and the Restless are excited that former star Melissa Claire Egan will be returning to the series, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Melissa announced her return on Twitter saying: 

Told ya it was just ‘goodbye for now’!!! This is gonna be gooooood.

Prior to her joining the cast of The Young and the Restless in 2011, Melissa played the role of Annie on ABC’s All My Children from 2006 to 2011. 

The soap actress, who recently filmed a starring role in Holiday for Heroes, has five Daytime Emmy nominations.
