Feud on ‘The View’

Rosie O’Donnell co-hosted a popular show The View from 2006 to 2007. Then, the star left the show to make a huge comeback in 2015.

To the big surprise of all fans, O’Donnell departed from the show again just after five months. The reports claimed it was all because of her feud with another co-star Whoopi Goldberg.

So, why these two smart, intelligent, and funny women couldn’t team up? Rosie O’Donnell shed light on her “worst experience in life” in a brand new interview with Andy Cohen.

It just didn’t work out

Rosie said she was never trying to steal the spotlight but simply wanted to act as a team.

She explained:

I thought we were going to be like, you know, Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan, passing the ball back.

O’Donnell added:

Before I went on the show, Goldberg was not that interested in ‘The View’. She wouldn’t talk when there were other guests, she would just sit there.

Rosie was obviously deeply hurt by Whoopi’s coldness towards her, as she said with a sad smile:

It was really painful for me to feel how much she didn’t like me.

What about Whoopi Goldberg?

As for Whoopi Goldberg, the star explained that she just wants to keep her work and personal life separately.

She said:

What happens for me at work is not for everybody -- it's not their business. I don't like talking out of school and I don't like other people talking out of school.

Rosie and Whoopi could become a great team on The View. It’s a bit sad that it didn’t work out for them. Do you miss Rosie O’Donnell in the show?
