July 5, 2019

Harry and Meghan’s son christening is just around the corner, but the new details about Archie’s upcoming big day keep coming.

Archie’s christening details

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will christen their baby this week on Saturday, July 6.

The ceremony will take place at St George’s Chapel with only closest friends and family members in attendance. Harry and Meghan won’t allow photographers to their private ceremony. Fans even won’t see the royals’ arrival to the chapel.

The good news is that the Sussexes promised to share the photos of Archie’s christening on their Instagram.

Snubbed the Queen?

Unfortunately, it was confirmed that Queen Elizabeth won’t be present at Archie’s baptism as she already has another engagement to attend, which was scheduled earlier.

However, one interesting detail has been revealed recently. It was reported that Harry and Meghan initially planned to christen their son on Friday, as they already made plans with Archie’s godparents and Meghan’s mom Doria.

Then, the Sussexes found out that Her Majesty and Prince Charles both have prescheduled engagements on this day. After a family conference, the royal parents decided to move the date to Saturday to accommodate Prince Charles after his 5-day tour across the country.

Fans’ comments

As for Archie’s godparents, reports claim that Harry and Meghan chose their good old friends, not from a celebrity list, for this role. The Sussexes decided to keep the godparents’ names in a secret.
