Tristan Beaudette was on the camping trip together with his two little daughters at the Malibu Creek State Park, California. He left his wife at home, so she could have some extra time for studies. Nobody knew it was the last time she saw her husband alive.
In the early morning, at around 04:45 am, the 35-year-old Tristan was fatally shot in his tent. He was found already dead, next to unharmed little daughters, ages 2 and 4. Police officers claim he was probably killed in from of kids.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Rodney Moore said:
The theory we are working with is he was shot inside the tent. The children were inside the tent too.
It is yet unclear who was the person to commit such an awful crime.

Rodney Moore added:
We are working this as a homicide at this point. We are gathering evidence. … It will take some time.
Family members are heartbroken and can’t imagine their life without Tristan. They set up a GoFundMe page to help Tristan’s wife and small children.

Tristan was out doing something he adored in life, being in the outdoors with his two young girls. His wife Erica was preparing to take an exam the next morning. This was their final step before taking well-deserved time off together as a family prior to their relocation to new jobs in the Bay Area. They were about to embark on a new chapter in their lives. And then it was all taken away, by a fatal gun shot in the middle of the night, in front of his two young daughters.
Altogether, there were more than 60 campsites in the location of the shooting, and all of them were occupied at that time. It is a popular camping place outside Los Angeles, which covers around 8,000 acres.
