In November, the legendary singer welcomed her first grandchild. But how does she cope with that role?

Barbra talks about being a grandma

In a rare interview with The Times, Streisand talked about having a grandkid for the very first time. Technically, she is a step-grandmother as her stepson, Josh Brolin, welcomed a baby girl with his wife Kathryn, whom they named Westlyn.

Streisand gushed about the little girl, calling her one of her “accomplishments.” She said:

Oh my gosh! That, to me, is a real accomplishment, to have this little baby, this live thing in my life.

To mark such a special occasion, Josh and Kathryn gifted Barbra a special bracelet, which they engraved with the word ‘Grandma.’ Streisand reveals that she cherishes it very much and never takes it off.

The Broadway star also shared that she even changed Westlyn‘s diaper, proving she’s a hands-on grandmother. Brolin commented that Barbra’s Jewish roots have an effect on her new role.

He revealed:

She is really into it and I love that she is into it. I mean, it’s like very typical Jewish grandmother who is saturated by this event. It’s awesome.

Streisand has nailed so many things in her life so it’s not surprising that being a first-time granny is a piece of cake for her as well.
