Sarah found out about the devastating news when she was on a vacation in Italy with her daughter Eugenie, who was 8 years old at that time. Not a day goes by that the Duchess has not thought of her beloved mom and recently she paid a tribute to her.

Remembering the strong women

The Duchess of York remembered her mother and other strong women in her life, including Princess Diana, as she paid a sweet tribute to them on International Women’s Day.

Fergie took to her private social media account to share a few photos of women she is privileged to have in her life.

She captioned her touching post with:

Thinking of some of the strong women who've been part of my life - my late mother, my dear, departed friends Diana and Carolyn Cotterell and of course my fierce, beautiful, loving daughters Beatrice and Eugenie who make me proud every day.

Sarah has never shared any photos of her late mother before so this was the first time she introduced her to her followers. It’s hard not to notice the striking resemblance between the two gorgeous women.

Previously, the Duchess released a heartfelt letter to Susan where she said that she forgives her for the abandonment.

Barrantes left Sarah when she was just 8 years old and Fergie was raised by her father. Nonetheless, the Duchess writes that she lets bygones be bygones and wishes her mother was still alive today.
