Hurray! Happy 98th Birthday To The Duke Of Edinburgh, Prince Philip

June 10, 2019 15:37

As the Queen just officially celebrated her 93rd birthday with the Trooping the Colour, the British royal family has another reason to celebrate. Prince Philip turns 98 today!

Prince Philip involved in a two-vehicle crash

Back in January, the Queen’s husband was involved in an accident. The Duke, who was driving near Sandringham estate, crashed his Land Rover into another car, with two women inside, according to BBC.

Eyewitnesses claim the Duke's car overturned during the collision. Prince Philip, fortunately, wasn’t hurt in the accident, but the passenger of the other vehicle suffered an arm injury, while the driver had only cuts.

The two women were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn for treatment. However, a doctor visited the Duke as a precaution.

Happy birthday to the Duke of Edinburgh

Can you believe it? Prince Philip is 98-years-old. This makes him the oldest male member of the British royal family.

He is also the longest-serving consort in British history. After 65 years of public service, the Duke of Edinburgh retired from royal duties back in 2017.

Last year, Buckingham Palace’s spokesperson confirmed that the Duke of Edinburgh celebrated his big day in private. The prince, who is known for not celebrating his birthdays in public, marked the day the same way in previous years.

Happy birthday, Prince Philip!
