Royal watchers were making guesses how Prince Harry would greet President Donald Trump during his state visit after Donald’s ‘nasty’ comment about his wife Meghan Markle. Here is everything we know.

‘Nasty’ comment

On Monday, Donald and Melania Trump together with Donald’s kids arrived in London for a state visit. Mr. President and the First Lady were warmly greeted by Her Majesty and other royals on their arrival.

However, the one thing that kept worrying royals fans was how Prince Harry would interact with Trump after his comment about his wife Meghan.

The matter is that prior to his visit to the UK, Donald called the Duchess of Sussex “nasty” in an interview with The Sun. Trump replied to the journalist’s question whether he knew that Meghan voted for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.

Donald replied:

I didn’t know that. What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty.

Soon after his comment went viral, Donald shared a tweet, denying he said such a thing about the royal mom.

Real defender Harry

Though some royal fans doubted that Harry would join the Queen to welcome the Trumps in the palace, His Highness was present during the meeting.

However, according to a royal correspondent Emily Andrews, Harry did his best to distance himself from Mr. Trump during this meeting.

The reporter revealed:

The photos of the Duke of Sussex during the tour show that he noticeably hung back.

Also, Prince Harry didn’t attend the state dinner with the Trumps later that day. As a real defender, Harry probably chose to stay by his wife’s side. As we know, Meghan won’t meet the Trump family during the state visit as she is still on maternity leave.

What do you think about this situation between Trump and the Sussexes? Is there a real reason to worry about their good relationship in the future?
