The beginning of 2019 was not so pleasant for Alex Trebek. In March, the Jeopardy longtime host announced he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Alex addressed his numerous fans via an emotional video, saying he’s not going to give up hope.

Trebek keeps his promise and is doing his best to stay in high spirits amid cancer battle. On Saturday, Alex attended the 10th Annual Classic Film Festival in Hollywood.
Trebek was all smiles as he greeted a delighted crowd. Nevertheless, it was hard not to notice that Alex looked a bit exhausted as he posed in front of the cameras. It seems like he even lost some weight while battling the disease.
‘Jeopardy’ talks about Trebek’s replacement
Less than a month after Alex revealed his cancer diagnosis, the Jeopardy creators start searching for his replacement in the show, according to reports.
Rob Shuter told in a podcast on Straight Shuter:
Alex is 78 years old, and the show was already talking about a replacement host when he retired. Now with his health scare, that process has been accelerated.
Alex hasn’t commented on his reported retirement yet. But his numerous fans can’t imagine the favorite show without its longtime host. It sounds like the end of an era, as Alex has been hosting Jeopardy since 1984.
