Ashley Judd got candid about her abortion experience, pointing out she didn’t want “to co-parent with her rapist.” The Missing actress has her reasons to say so.
Ashley Judd talks about her abortion experience
Ashley Judd has always been open about her attitude towards the legal abortion policy. In 2019, the Kiss the Girls star attended Women in the World Summit to discuss a new bill that would ban abortion as soon as a heartbeat can be heard.
In her emotional speech, Judd confessed she is a “three-time rape survivor.” The actress said she was thankful for the possibility to make a legal abortion as she didn’t want to co-parent with her rapist.
I’m very thankful I was able to access safe and legal abortion. I would’ve had to co-parent with my rapist.
In her early interviews, Ashley Judd often said she was not ready for having kids yet.
I'm not ready, I'm too young to be a mum.
The actress had no children with her ex-husband, Dario Franchitti. Judd explained her point of view:
It's unconscionable to breed with the number of children who are starving to death in impoverished countries.
Ashley Judd is not the only one among celebrity women to protest against Georgia abortions ban. She signed an official letter shared by the Charmed star, Alyssa Milano, who is an outspoken advocate for legal abortion and women’s rights.
