Prince Harry & Meghan Markle To Keep Living In Frogmore Cottage Amid Stepping Down From Royalty

January 10, 2020

Whether we like it or not, but the fact is the fact: the enormous portion of news is going to focus on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bombshell statement. Two days ago, the royal couple announced they would step back as 'senior' royals, work financially independant, and divide their time between North America and the UK.

But what will happen to Meghan and Harry's home and some other things they got per the public funds?

Meghan and Harry's house

According to the couple's newly-designed website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex intend to keep living at Frogmore Cottage, where they moved in shortly before welcoming baby Archie.

Here, Meghan and Harry clearly wrote that Frogmore Cottage would be their primary property in the UK, and they would use it further under the Queen's permission.

However, since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry want to be financially independent, they would probably pay rent, as an average citizen. Their house underwent $3 million renovations, and the money came from taxpayers, so they might be forced to do so after quitting royalty.

Moreover, according to Buckingham Palace's announcement, the Queen and Prince Charles knew nothing about the Sussexes' decision, and they all, therefore, are set to have long discussions.

Things that might have lead to quitting royal duties

  • Alleged rift between Prince Harry and Prince William.
  • Media pressure and racism toward Meghan Markle.
  • The desire to provide a normal life to Archie.
  • Will to avoid Princess Diana's life and tragic consequences.

Before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry went to their well-deserved getaway in Canada, their candid documentary actually hinted on such a decision. The Duke emotionally revealed that if people knew what he knows, they would be doing the same. So, perhaps stepping down from the royal family is the only solution for living normally.
