On November 21, Prince Andrew released a statement that he's officially quitting royal duties "for the foreseeable future" with the Queen's full permission.

Such a decision came as a result of the Duke of York's past involvement with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, which caused the royal family a lot of trouble and, it turns out, ruffled up some feathers within the monarchy.

A source close to the royal family told The Sunday Times that the Duke of Cambridge was put off by Prince Andrew's recent behavior and personally helped to remove him from the public life.

Reportedly, Prince William wasn't a fan of the Duke of York's decision to give an interview about Epstein to BBC without consulting Queen Elizabeth II. William helped to convince Her Royal Highness that "sacking" Andrew was "the right thing to do," the source says.

Another source told the paper that the 37-year-old royal is expanding his responsibilities within the royal family and takes on big decisions now:

William is becoming more and more involved in decisions about the institution [monarchy] and he's not a huge fan of his uncle Andrew.
