Oprah's cousin confession

In the book Oprah: A Biography, Katharine Carr revealed some facts about Oprah’s childhood that were never heard before. She said that Oprah’s family was not as poor as she described all the time.

Of course, there were certain financial difficulties, but her family owned their own house, two acres of land, and a few chickens. She said they probably lived better than most people in their community.

She also added that Winfrey was not raised on a pig farm, as there was only one pig, and that she didn’t milk cows, as there was only one cow.

Katharine Carr said she was previously asking Oprah why she is telling the wrong information to the public, and she answered that the truth is boring and she tells what people want to hear.

Kitty Kelley, the author of the book, was very criticized after it was published back in 2010. Nevertheless, she insists it’s not the fiction, and the book is based on real facts.

Despite the fact Oprah Winfrey is considered to be from the poor family and said she had a hard childhood, her cousin claimed she made this story up. But of course, it is hard to identify the reality.
