Gloria Stuart, the actress who played elderly Rosa, told us of the love story that happened on the ship. For this role, she was nominated for a Golden Globe and Oscar, becoming the oldest actress nominated for this kind of award.

Stuart signed her first contract in 1932.

The director immediately noticed Gloria, making her his favorite. The cute blonde starred in three of his films. The Invisible Man is the most famous among them.

Soon thereafter, Stuart had a 30-year career break, which she spent painting.
