Failed Plastics: Celebrities Whose Careers Have Been Ruined By Unsuccessful Surgeries

July 5, 2019

It’s hard to imagine modern cinema without Helena Bonham Carter, Tilda Swinton, or Whoopi Goldberg. They managed to become famous and obtained millions of fans, although many considered them ugly. And then there is another category of celebrities who could have been more successful had they not lost the charm that made them special in an effort to improve their appearance.

1. Meg Ryan

The star of Sleepless in Seattle and French Kiss was one of the prettiest movie blondes of the 90s, but began to struggle with aging quite early.

The actress’ popularity began to fade after the first surgeries – a circular lift of the eyelids, a change in the shape of the cheekbones, and augmented lips.

2. Megan Fox

Although Megan has starred in quite a lot, the Transformers saga has brought her real world fame. Along with the dizzying success, she had a desire for self-improvement.

A significant imprint on her appearance, in addition to fitness, also imposed facial plasticity. It is difficult to judge which operations Fox underwent, but her appearance is already far from what she looked like in her youth.

3. Lara Flynn Boyle

Twin Peaks could have opened many doors into the cinematic world for the actress, but she became obsessed with plastics very early.

The change in the shape of her face and the augmented lips played a cruel joke on her. A lot of films with her participation didn’t become popular, and almost nothing can be seen of her former beauty now.

4. Jennifer Gray

The charming actress woke up famous when Dirty Dancing hit the big screen in 1987. Young Jennifer didn’t realize that a disproportionate nose could become her ticket to fame.

Rhinoplasty helped Jennifer eradicate her problem, but destroyed her identifiability. She was no longer recognized, and most of her subsequent roles were just episodic.

5. Lisa Rinna

The star of the series Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place has always been famous for her magnificent lips. She made the first injections in 1988 when she was just 24.

The actress did the collagen injections regularly, but over time the filler hardened so much that it was necessary to resort to plastic surgery to remove it. However, Rinna didn’t stop increasing her lips even after that.

6. Janice Dickinson

One of the first supermodels in the world was famous back in the 70s when she began to participate in beauty contests and build a career. She started to resort to plastics while being still quite popular.

The situation was aggravated when a new generation of models appeared on the catwalk. Despite the changes in appearance, Dickinson, not wanting to go into the shadows, participated in many television projects, and opened her own modeling agency.

7. Joan Van Ark

Before becoming obsessed with plasticity, Joan Van Ark (Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, Dallas) was the personification of the 80s with her unusual elegance. In her youth, she was distinguished by exceptional beauty.

Not all of her surgeries were successful, but this didn’t embarrass the actress – she continued to go under the knife, attracting public attention in recent years.

8. Jessica Simpson

Jessica began as a successful singer and started to star in films a little later. Several recent movies with her participation ended in failures, and the girl stopped receiving good roles.

As for the plastics, Simpson regretted the lip augmentation done she had done in youth. Mind you, some recent photos of the actress indicate that she hasn’t stopped experimenting with her appearance.

There are many examples of how women with non-standard beauty have achieved dizzying success. Do you think it is worth risking natural appearance, even imperfect, for the sake of fashion or fame?
