Although Kate Middleton owns a luxurious wardrobe, she occasionally appears in public in clothes we have previously seen. In this case, the Duchess provides her image with a new flavor using jewelries and other accessories. Many of her wardrobe items are already several years old, meaning her style is timeless since she always looks fashionable.

On May 14, Kate showed off one such flashback. The Duchess visited an exhibition in Bletchley Park mansion, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. During World War II, her paternal grandmother worked in the British main cryptographic unit located on the territory of the estate. This time, Kate chose a strict and light dress of deep blue shade by Alessandra Rich that she had already worn before.

The Duchess wore this particular dress in autumn 2018 to shoot official portraits on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of her father-in-law, Prince Charles.

We have already grown accustomed to seeing celebrities showing off new clothing items to their fans. However, this dress could be called a replica of another fashionable image. Almost a year earlier, on May 18, 2018, Meghan Markle’s friend and colleague from the series Suits, actress Abigail Spencer, flashed in the same outfit at the Dukes of Sussex’s wedding.

One would have thought that Kate liked her image so much that she decided to copy it. But it is actually much more complicated. Dresses with a polka dot pattern, or simply polka dots, haven’t lost their relevance for several decades. Even the Duchesses’ late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, once chose a very similar outfit.

Of course, Middleton’s cut looks much more modern and elegant. But you should agree, it can be considered a tribute to Lady Di, who had several outfits with such a pattern.

It seems Kate is also a huge polka dot fan. While still pregnant with Prince George, she appeared in a fabulous white mini dress with large black dots.

A few hours after the birth of her firstborn, the Duchess greeted the audience on the porch of Lindo Wing, also giving preference to similar attire her mother-in-law used to wear.

Polka dot has taken a strong position in Kate's wardrobe. She appeared in it twice in 2018 after maternity leave.

No wonder they say that everything new is actually well-forgotten old. What do you think, who looks better in the polka dot pattern: Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, or Meghan’s friend? Share your thoughts in the comments.
