Michael Schumacher's Family Thanked His Fans For Support And Created A Stunning Virtual Museum

Michael Schumacher is a well-known personality even to those who aren’t interested in Formula 1 racing. “The Red Baron” is a legendary and fearless racing driver whose number of admirers hasn’t decreased even after the tragic accident 5 years ago.


Michael lived through a terrible tragedy in December 2013. While on vacation at a French ski resort, he was seriously injured. In the first days after the tragedy, his relatives and friends gave extensive comments about his condition. However, soon the information on Schumacher’s health was kept secret for a good reason. Nevertheless, this didn’t prevent rumors about his recovery to appear one after another.

On January 3, 2018, the legendary driver turned 50. This event couldn’t be left without attention: millions of fans congratulated him on his birthday, hoping that their kind words would reach the addressee:

Most of the posts were accompanied by #KeepFighting hashtag, as millions of Michael’s fans still believe that he will eventually recover enough to lead an active social life and maybe one day return to the track.

Surprisingly, Michael’s family made a rare statement posted on the driver's Facebook page.

We are very happy to celebrate Michael's 50th birthday tomorrow together with you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts that we can do this together. As a gift to him, you and us, Keep Fighting Foundation has created a virtual museum. The Official Michael Schumacher App will be released tomorrow so that we can review all together Michael's successes. The app is another milestone in our effort to do justice to him and you, his fans, by celebrating his accomplishments.

You can be sure that he is in the very best of hands and that we are doing everything humanly possible to help him. Please understand if we are following Michael's wishes and keeping such a sensitive subject as health, as it has always been, in privacy.


Every Formula 1 fan can be proud of the hard work Schumacher’s professionalism and personal records managed to achieve. During 21 years and 18 seasons, he managed to take Formula 1 to a completely new level. He has become the world champion 7 times, won 91 races, and helped future generations strive for his success. Officially, he ended his career in 2013, shortly before the tragic accident, but his contribution will surely go down in history.


Like many fans of Michael, we hope that his recovery will only progress, and he will soon be able to return to public life. 50 is a solid age, but this is only the beginning of a new, exciting part of life. Get better soon, Michael; we miss you.
