Whiten Clothes At Home: DIY Tricks

After a while, all white things lose their appearance and become gray and dull. But this is not a reason to throw them away! With a few tricks, they can be easily whitened no worse than in a dry cleaner. Bring your clothes back to life!

The first method is suitable for any whites: shirts, kitchen towels, tulle, etc.

Method 1

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp of hand wash powder;
  • 2 tbsp of stain remover;
  • 1 tbsp of baking soda;
  • 2 tbsp of sunflower oil;
  • 5 quarts of boiling water.

Procedure:

  1. Pour all the ingredients into an enamel pot.
  2. Get clothes ready for washing.
  3. Put the pot with clothes on a stove on low heat and boil for 10 minutes.
  4. Then turn off the fire and leave the clothes in the water for 8 hours.
  5. At the end, rinse them in a washing machine in a usual mode.

Even hopeless clothes will become white again!

For those who don’t have so much time: instead of boiling, you can just pour hot water in, cover with a lid, and let it cool down. It will do just fine.

Method 2

The next method is suitable for washing underwear and natural textile fibers.

Ingredients:

  • 10 quarts of water of a room temperature;
  • 2-3 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide (3% solution).

Procedure:

  1. Pour water of a room temperature into a pot.
  2. Dissolve hydrogen peroxide in water, stir.
  3. Immerse the underwear in water for 1 hour.
  4. Wash laundry with powder as usual.

Products also suitable for washing and bleaching are: laundry soap, boric acid, brilliant green, table salt, aspirin, etc. Do you use anything from this list?
